Ever since I read about this Sherlock Holmes-themed cafe on the internet a few days ago, I was dying to pay a visit until fellow blogger Karen suggested we go there after a super satisfying lunch of clam chowder, smoothies, and a delicious salad (at the nearby Pier 39 – read about it in my friend Jordan’s blog here). Although I have yet to watch the final episode of the latest season of the BBC Sherlock (hating myself for it), I was still super excited as we neared the entrance. Plus, I’m a sucker for themed restaurants. With an enchanting atmosphere of Sherlock’s apartment PLUS Benedict’s face everywhere, I must say this is definitely a cool cafe to check out.
Inside they had Sherlock’s iconic items throughout his little residence on Baker street, as well as pictures of the characters – Sherlock’s violin, the yellow smiley face on the familiar wallpaper, the vintage furniture, – I think the interior was pretty on point. A lot of the Sherlock paraphernalia was for sale (a bit overpriced but still), which is a great news for hardcore fans.
For dessert we ordered fruit waffles. They gave us a waiting number that was actually pinned on a hat! I thought that was really clever. The waffles were pretty good, but if you’re yearning for that full-on British Sherlock experience, it might not be bad to go ahead and order a cup of Watson (early grey), Sherlock (English breakfast), or Moriarty (Darjeeling)! Overall, I really liked the atmosphere and it was a really nice place to just sit a revel in all the Sherlock themed ideas + have a fun chat with friends!
